Me sumerjo marked wrong?
This question relates to:Spanish lesson "Conjugate stem-changing (g > j) verbs: -ger and -gir verbs in the present tense in Spanish (El Presente)"

Hola Inez
In this sentence: Yo sumerjo as manos en el agua. (I plunge my hands in the water) we are using the verb with a direct object: las manos, so the verb doesn't need the pronoun "me" as if it was reflexive. You can use the verb with the reflexive pronoun if you are saying that you are "diving into the water / getting into the water" as in yourself, your whole body; in this case you'd say "Me sumerjo en el agua".
I hope it clarified it.
Saludos
