Hola Emanuel,

Querer in El Pretérito Indefinido (quise, quisiste, quiso...) + que is followed by El Imperfecto de Subjuntivo.

"Ella quiso que sus hijos se volvieran a ver y a hablar."

(She wanted [tried] her children to meet and talk to each other again.)

"Yo nunca quise que mis padres me ayudasen a comprar el apartamento."

(I never wanted [refused] my parents to help me buy my flat.)
