1)

ine: and you have to pay for the ticket.

I wrote: y tu debes pagar el boleto.

but none of the answers gave this as a possible answer.

Is there something I'm missing as I thought it means: you must...(do something) as in:

b. have to (SpanishDict.com)

Ya sabes que debes ponerte la corbata para ir al colegio.

You know you have to wear your tie to go to school.

2)

Also in the same exercise:

Line: I would like to visit Medellín next year.

I wrote: Me gustaría visitar Medellín el año proximo.

But none of the answers take this verb into account, but go with the verb: Querer:

Quiero visitar Medellín el próximo año.

Would this not also be a way of saying "I'd like to go" or should the English have been: "I want to go" and that there is

possibly an error here?

Thank you,

Nicole

Hola Nicole,

You are right. 1. using "deber" is also correct to mean "to have to", so we are adding that as another possible answer. 2. "Me gustaría" is what you'd use to literally say "I would like", however, we didn't add this possibility to the answers as this is a A1 exercise to mainly practice the present tense of different verbs. This is why we add a hint on that line saying: Lit: "I want to visit Medellín next year"."

Saludos,

Inma
