estar + hecho

Hi, I've just come across a use of estar + hecho that I didn't know before:
Tu hermano está hecho un hombretón.

That doesn't seem to be quite the same as the usage here, and I cannot find any reference to this kind of estar + hecho elsewhere on kwiziq...

Hola Paolo

We don't have a specific lesson for this idiom, but there are lots of different expressions using "estar hecho/ estar hecha ..." Here is a list with the most common ones:

Idioms with the word "hecho/hecha"

For those who don't know what "estar hecho un hombretón" means, you say this about someone [young boys] when you see them after a long time and they have grown more than what you were expecting so they now look nearly like adults. You may also hear the same for young ladies: está hecha una mujercita/mujerona".

Saludos cordiales
