Can "le" mean "from her/him"?

Can "le" mean "from her/him"?

"Le compré flores."

Does this mean:

I bought her flowers (for her)

or

I bought flowers from her

How do I make it clearer, unambiguous?

Thank you.

Hola Inb

Yes, it could!

Sometimes the indirect object pronoun is also used to indicate "from" and it's difficult to know what you really mean if there is no more context. You'd have to add more info to the sentence to clarify, for example "le compré flores de su tienda" (I bought flowers from her shop) so it is a bit clearer that it is a "from her, from her shop".

Saludos y felices fiestas
