Caer + a /a before 2 names

Hola

Please explain why in the below sentence there is no "a" before "Fernando".

A mí me cae bien Fernando.

Also, in the sentence below do we need to repeat "a" before the word "Pedro"

A Juan y Pedro les gustó Anna.

Hola E. L.

I can see you've been taking a keen interest in how these structures work!

In A mí me cae bien Fernando, Fernando is the subject of caer bien, so no a is needed before his name. The a in a mí introduces the person experiencing the feeling.

As for A Juan y Pedro les gustó Anna, you don't need to repeat the a before Pedro, although A Juan y a Pedro les gustó Anna is also correct.

I hope this clarifies the distinction.

Hasta pronto

Silvia
