Accents in Pretérito indefinido

Why is there an accent on the 'ví', in 'Yo caminaba por la ciudad cuando lo ví.',  despite the first person Pretérito indefinido being 'vi’?
BUT no accent on the ‘di’ in the following sentence?

¿Leíste el informe que te di?

Hola Jessica

vi should not take the accent (same as di) - that typo has been corrected now.

Gracias y saludos
