Adverbio relativo

Spanish relative adverb

A relative adverb introduces a group of words, or a clause, that tells more about a noun. Relative adverbs can be used instead of a relative pronoun plus a preposition. There are three main relative adverbs: donde, cuando and como.

For these to be relative adverbs, it's necessary to have an antecedent.

The relative adverb cuando means "when", “in which” or “at which”:

Ese es el momento cuando le pides disculpas a ella.

This is he time when you apologize to her.

The relative adverb como means "how":

La manera como hablaba era rara.

The way in which he was speaking was odd.

The relative adverb donde means "where", "in which" or "at which":

Estoy en un bosque inmenso, donde hay muchas plantas tropicales.

I am in a massive forest where there are many tropical plants.

I'll be right with you...
