I just left the museum and I saw the Rokeby Venus. This painting is by Velázquez. The goddess Venus is lying on a bed looking at herself in a mirror, while her son Cupid, god of sensual love, is holding it. Velázquez achieves depth in the painting thanks to a strategic placement of all objects in the painting. I love this work because Baroque is my favorite style.
