If I had to choose a soundtrack for my life, I wouldn't know where to begin. There are so many songs that remind me of specific moments. The first song I remember is a lullaby that my mother used to sing to me. She hummed it softly every night to help me fall asleep. Even now, whenever I hear it, it brings back memories of my childhood bedroom. When I was about twelve, I discovered pop music and everything changed. My best friend and I spent hours listening to our favourite bands. Those songs defined my adolescence more than anything else. At seventeen, I fell in love for the first time and I had my own heartbreak song. I played that song on repeat for weeks, convinced that no one had ever suffered as much. Years later, I moved to a new city to study and music helped me feel less lonely. I discovered artists I had never heard of and my taste changed completely. Now that I am older, certain songs take me back to moments that I thought I had forgotten. It is extraordinary how a melody can make you feel exactly how you felt years ago. Music has always been the thread that connects all the chapters of my life. Maybe I don't remember every detail of my past, but I will always have the songs.
