For years, I thought sunscreen was only necessary at the beach. However, a visit to the dermatologist changed my perspective completely. He explained that UV rays damage the skin even on cloudy days. I had never really thought about the long-term consequences of sun exposure. The dermatologist warned me that unprotected skin ages prematurely. He recommended that I use a broad-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen every day. At first, I was reluctant because I had always found sunscreen greasy. However, he showed me that there are now lightweight formulas that absorb quickly. I decided to incorporate sunscreen into my morning skincare routine. The dermatologist also insisted that I reapply it every two hours when I was outdoors. This was something I had never done before, which made the habit hard to build. I started setting a reminder on my phone so that I would not forget to reapply. Within a few months, I noticed that my skin looked more even and radiant. I also learned to seek shade between noon and four in the afternoon. It surprised me that something so simple could make such a difference. Now I would never leave the house in the morning without applying moisturiser with SPF.
