Two years ago, I decided to become a volunteer. My sister told me about an animal shelter near our house. She worked there every Saturday. At first, I was a little nervous. I fed the dogs and cleaned their kennels. I also looked after the cats. The animals were very friendly. After a few weeks, I felt more confident. I started to know the other volunteers. We were all from the same neighbourhood. The work was hard but very rewarding. I learned a lot about the local community. Now I want to continue being a volunteer next year.

I'll be right with you...
