Last summer, I decided to embark on a backpacking trip through Europe with the intention of minimizing my environmental impact. To explore each new city, I chose to rent bicycles or walk instead of relying on taxis or buses. This not only allowed me to discover corners of the world and experience local culture in a more authentic way, but I also reduced my carbon footprint. As for food, I looked for restaurants and cafes that offered vegetarian or vegan options, and always asked them not to give me straws or disposable utensils. Also, when I bought food at local markets, I brought my own reusable bags and avoided products with excess packaging. However, one of the most exciting moments of my trip was participating in a beach cleanup with other aware travelers. Together, we picked up trash and learned about the dire impact of plastic waste on the ocean. This was a very positive work that touched my heart.

Clever stuff happening!
