Asking where someone lives in Spanish

To ask where someone lives, you can use either the informal vives form, or the formal usted vive form:

¿Dónde vives?Where do you live? [informal]

¿Dónde vive usted Señor Sánchez?Where do you live, Mr. Sánchez? [formal]

Saying where you live in Spanish

To say where you live in Spanish, use vivo en [city/country/region]:

Vivo en los Estados Unidos.I live in the United States.

Yo vivo en Córdoba.I live in Cordoba.

Yo vivo en el barrio de Gràcia.I live in Gràcia neighborhood.

In Spanish, you can omit the pronoun yo (I) and use the verb on its own: Vivo en Madrid.
