" para cuidar tus amistades" : why the personal "a" is missing here?

In this sentence the use of "cuidar" has a slightly different nuance to the more general meaning of "cuidar a/cuidar de + [alguien]". When we say here "cuidar tus amistades" it means "to maintain/ pay attention to". It is used as a transitive verb with no preposition. Another similar sentence to this one could be for example:
"Cuida tu postura cuando trabajes largas horas enfrente del ordenador" (Pay attention to your posture when you work long hours in front of the computer.)
