Are you from England? (you=tú)

Hello, I hope you and the team are all doing well and keeping healthy!I have a question on the above:I'm suppose that means are you a native of England. But let's suppose that person came from England, but the person was visiting England and coming from there, would he/she still say:" Soy de Inglaterra"? Or would he/she have to totally rephrase it, and explain that they were visiting.  How would you then state that you're from England, as you came from there.Thank you,Nicole

Hola Nicole

All good over here thanks!

To mean you are coming from a specific place as in you are travelling from one country to another for example you would never say "soy de..." (this only means you are a native from that country). You then would use "venir" and probably give a bit of explanation. See this small dialogue to reflect this:

- Hace mucho que no te veo, Laura.

- Sí, verdad. Con mi trabajo nuevo siempre estoy viajando de un lugar a otro. De hecho, ahora mismo vengo de Berlín. He estado allí 3 días.

- I haven't seen you for quite a while, Laura.

- True. With my new job I am always travelling from place to place.  In fact. right now I am coming from Berlin. I've been there 3 days.

Saludos

Inma
