question regarding date

May i check if the sentence should be

En el concierto el sábado ....

rather than the below where de is used? from my understanding, i thought there isnt a word for the equivalent of on in spanish for days of the week.

En el concierto del sábado casi nos desmayamos al ver a Ariana Grande.

Hola Ashlyn

You can say both. The structure we used is linking more the concert to Saturday as if saying "the concert from Saturday" (that happened on Saturday) or "the Saturday concert".  This way the function of "del sábado" would be more of an adjectival function.

Your option "el concierto el sábado..." would be missing the "En..." for "At the concert..." but you could also say: "En el concierto el sábado" '- this would disconnect a bit more the elements concert and Saturday.

I hope it clarified it.

Saludos

Inma
