Last translation in the exercise:

and their history is interesting.

Kwizbot y su historia es interesante.

You y su historia está interesante.

I was wondering why ser is used here instead of estar.

Thank you. Nicole

Hola Nicole

We are using "su historia es muy interesante" here because we are "defining/describing" something with an essential/permanent quality. However we could have used "su historia está muy interesante" if we were talking about something that we are watching or reading at the moment of speaking. Say, for example you are reading a book and someone asks:

-¿Te está gustando el libro?

and you reply:

-Sí, está muy interesante.

This "está" reflects how you are finding the book while you are reading it.

It is similar to when you talk about food. You could say:

Los plátanos son buenos. (we mean it as an essential quality of bananas, they are good/healthy.)

or

Los plátanos están buenos. (here you are tasting some bananas and you find them tasty.)

Saludos,

Inma

Hola Inma,

As usual your answers are excellent and you know how to really hone in on difficult (at least for us learners) areas with such clarity! We are lucky to have because not everyone has that ability. Thank you this helped a lot!
