Hi, is there any difference between using the simple future and conditional or are they interchangeable for this usage? Thanks

Sorry about the delay..., no, the future and the conditional are interchangeable when we use them this way.

I think it's interesting that the translation works in English if you preserve the Spanish tenses. Like is:
In 1943 he met Françoise Gilot, with whom he would later have two children , Claude and Paloma. Three years later, the artist will leave Paris to settle in Antibes, where Picasso will start a new/different artistic phase.
So we have the same or a very similar pattern in English. It's just that the narrator is switching the temporal point of reference from the narrator/author/reader's time, to some past time (here 1943).Don't have an account yet? Join today
