Picarón y picarona
Question: Tu amiga es un poco ________. Answer, Picarona. Why is the question not.... Tu amiga es una poca picarona, instead of Tu amiga es un poco picarona?
This question relates to:Spanish lesson "Forming the singular and plural of adjectives ending in -án, ón, -or"
Asked 11 months ago

Hola James
That is because here "un poco" is acting as an adverb, not an adjective, so it doesn't change to agree with the gender. Same as when we say: es muy picarón/picarona; es bastante picarón/ picarona; also "es un poco picarón/picarona".
I hope it clarified it.
Saludos
Inma

Thanks Inma. I always have trouble distinguishing adverbs and adjectives. But your answer makes perfect sense. And I knew this rule just had trouble applying it.
