obligatory or optional use of unos before "270 huesos"

Hola,

My translators consistently omit the "unos" before "270 huesos" in the phrase  "pero los bebés nacen con unos 270 huesos que se fusionan con el tiempo". Is it grammatically correct to exclude the unos ? Or is it included simply for aesthetic reasons?

Hola Kevin

The reason why we include "unos" in this phrase is because the English is stating it:

"...but babies are born with about 270 bones"

This "about" is expressed with the article "unos", although you could also express this with "...alrededor de 270 huesos" or "...aproximadamente 270 huesos"

If the sentence was omitting it and said "but babies are born with 270 bones" then you don't need that "unos".

I hope it clarified it
