Mi madre se peina el pelo con un cepillo nuevo

Mi madre se peina el pelo con un cepillo nuevo

Hi,

Could 'el pelo' be removed from the above sentence and still retain the same meaning.  I assume that peinarse means to comb one's own hair.

Thanks.

Hola Colin

Yes, you can omit it and it'd be implied as you said.

We didn't omit it there just to illustrate how we can use the definite article (instead of the possessive)
