Hola Inma, could you, please, explain why " mi corazón me iba a explotar/estalar" is not valid? I' ve always had a problem with this kind of expression. SaludosΕλισάβετ

Yes, you could also use the verb "estallar" as a synonym of "explotar". And you can use the pronoun "me" to reinforce the idea of who was the person affected by the action, so we will add these as possible answers too. What we include in the Writing Challenge exercises is the most common answers but we are happy to add any suggestion that is also valid.
