After reading the recommended lesson at Spanish verbs Llevar vs Llevarse (pronominal verbs) [Lesson 9495; then look at: 'Getting along with people'] I am puzzled as to why the pronominal form of llevar was not permitted here: namely "Nos llevamos juntos tanto tiempo".
Llevarse as opposed to llevar?

Hola David
The use of llevar here is different - it doesn't mean getting on well, it means (used together with time) "to be together".
It's similar to when we use llevar with a verb in the gerund:
Llevamos viviendo aquí mucho tiempo.
Llevamos (estando) juntos mucho tiempo.
We don't use it pronominally in this case.
Saludos
