¡La casa va a estar preciosa!

Hi, I'm, hopinh you can help out with this query -

In this sentence: "¡La casa va a estar preciosa!" we have 'estar' used, why isn't this 'está', or 'estaría', or 'estará'?

Hola Ben,

we used "va a estar" to express "is going to be", this is the near future. 

Do you mean we could have said "La casa está preciosa", "La casa estará preciosa" or "La casa estaría preciosa"?

All these are also grammatically correct, but they mean different things:

The house is nice. (está)

The house will be nice. (estará)

The house would be nice. (estaría)

Hi, Ben. Remember that in a sentence with two verbs the first is conjugated and the second is used int the infinitive form..

that's why it's, "La casa (va) a (estar) precioso"

Hey! This is because the verb estar literally mean ' to be '  so va a estar means ' going to be '! It's a direct input

Ir is a power verb and you use the infinitive after a power verb
