Gender of noun for cuyo

Pensad bien si vais a comprar esa casa, ________jardín es minúsculo. The answer was cuyo, but shouldn’t it be cuya?

Hola Julia

it needs the masculine singular cuyo as it needs agreement with "jardín", not "casa". If you go back to the lesson you'll see how we explain that the agreement is with the noun that comes after.
