Regular singular nouns in Spanish

Regular nouns in Spanish follow this rule to form the singular:

ending -o for masculine 
ending -a for feminine

Me gusta el piso de María.I like María's flat.

Quiero una casa en el centro de Madrid.I want a house in the centre of Madrid.

Regular plural nouns in Spanish

Regular nouns form their plural by adding an -s to their singular form:

Me gustan los pisos de María.I like María's flats.

Quiero dos casas en el centro de Madrid.I want two houses in the centre of Madrid.

Mi padre va a pintar un cuadro.My dad is going to paint a picture.

Pongo la comida en el horno para calentar.I'm putting the food in the oven to heat it up.

La abuela viene hoy a comer.Grandma is coming for lunch today.

Tenemos una pizarra interactiva en mi clase.We have an interactive board in class.

Mis amigos Rafa y Luis viven en Granada.My (male) friends Rafa and Luis live in Granada.

Mis amigas Lola y Sandra viven en Alicante.My (female) friends Lola and Sandra live in Alicante.

Remember that the articles and adjectives that accompany the nouns must agree in number and gender.
