In 2016 we took the trip of our lives. We went to the Andes in Peru, and we lived a few weeks with the indigenous people there. It is exciting to know that more than 4 million indigenous people live in this country grouped into 55 villages that speak 47 languages. During our stay in the Peruvian mountains, we learned a bit of Quechua and Aymara, and we attended various religious rituals where sacrifices were made to different gods to get a good harvest. In addition to this, since my husband is a doctor, we helped build a small hospital in a village to care for sick people. We would like very much to return to the Andes one day.
