Courtyards in Cordoba begins on the first of May. Lots of courtyards in old houses compete in this event. The neighbours hang plantpots with beautiful flowers on their white walls. We also find wells, wicker chairs and other features of Arab heritage. Some judges choose the most beautiful courtyards and all the participants dream about obtaining the first prize. Thousands of tourists come to the city in May (in order) to admire these courtyards. Many of them have been coming for several years because they love to see them.
