How the test works

Here's a preview of the text for the writing challenge, when you're ready click the start button above:

There have been banned books in different eras. As they challenged the authorities, many ideas were censored. Therefore, texts considered dangerous were burned. However, some readers hid them in secret libraries. Meanwhile, the authorities persecuted those who read them. Still, many writers defended freedom of expression. Some even risked their lives to spread knowledge. In addition, governments banned works on politics and religion. However, some scholars bravely resisted. Therefore, they discovered ways to preserve the texts. Thus, clandestine booksellers secretly distributed them. Finally, many works survived censorship. As a result, these books transformed the thinking of generations. In conclusion, books have proven their power over time.
