I can't wait in Spanish

To express in Spanish "I can't wait!" when looking forward to something/something happening we can use the idiomatic expression no ver la hora. For example:

¡No veo la hora!I can't wait!

It is very common in the present tense, as above, but when referring to a past event we can also use it in El Imperfecto:

¡No veía la hora!I couldn't wait!

This idiomatic expression can also be used in a sentence to express that someone can't wait for something to happen. There are different ways to express this. 

With "de" + infinitive

No veo la hora de llegar a casa y ponerme las zapatillas.I can't wait to get home and put on my slippers.

No veo la hora de montarme en ese avión a Cancún.I can't wait to get on that plane to Cancún.

With "en que" + subjunctive 

No veía la hora en que mi hijo se fuera a vivir con su novia.I couldn't wait for my son to go and live with his girlfriend.

No veo la hora en que abran el nuevo centro comercial.I can't wait for the new shopping centre to open.
