Hola William, "huis" doesn't have an accent because it is a monosyllable word. However "construís", where the stress is also on the "i" needs the accent as it is a more than one syllable word and it finishes in consonant "s". We will soon have a lesson about accents. Thanks for pointing out the omission. We are adding that information to the lesson.

Matias, Mateo y tú HUIS del asesino. Matias, Mateo and you are running away from the assassin.
I answered this question without using the accent. The response was '"nearly right" and suggested the accent should be included.
In Harrap's book of common Spanish Verbs the accent is included, On the attached verb conjugation website the accent is also included.

Hola William, we are following The Royal Spanish Academy's accentuation rules from 2010 and these say that all monosyllabic words containing the diphthong "ui" and ending by -s are not accentuated anymore. It is possible that you find some websites or resources still admitting this accent in such case but unfortunately it is not correct anymore. I hope this explanation helps! Thanks for your contribution.

Can I suggest include a comment that accent is no longer required on this page?
