By a lovely winter morning, Henri the hare meets poorly Lili the rabbit.

 

This exercise requires expressions containing animal names.

 

Le Passé Simple will be used when appropriate.

Pay attention to the hints!

Some vocabulary you may want to look up before or during this exercise: "pristine", "a hare", "definitely not!", "to enjoy (food)", "grass", "to put aside".

That morning, it was bitterly cold. It had snowed all night, and the forest was covered with a thick coat of pristine snow. Henri the hare loved winter: he ran, jumped, happy as a clam! Lili the rabbit didn't share his enthusiam. "What a beautiful day, right Lili?" exclaimed Henri, happy as a lark. "Definitely not! The weather is lousy!" replied Lili. "I have goose pimples [US: goose bumps], a frog in my throat, and a raging fever! How ironic for a (female) rabbit!" "Come on, Lili, don't be pigheaded! Come with me, I could eat a horse, and I'm going to enjoy a bit of grass that I'd put aside just in case.
