When it's not raining, I go for a walk in the woods, and I admire the trees' red, yellow and orange leaves. It's truly a magnificent sight! Sometimes, when a ray of sunlight comes through the clouds, some leaves even look like gold! I also take a basket with me to be able to pick up conkers [US: horse chestnuts] and chestnuts. With the conkers [US: horse chestnuts], I make little characters for my grandchildren. In the evening, I roast the chestnuts in the fireplace, and we eat them with pumpkin soup: the children are crazy about my recipe! My secret? I add a pinch of nutmeg.
